Energy Harvesting by Raphael Zollinger

Zollinger's project is interesting because it combines energy generation with data visualization in order to explore sustainable practices and environmental issues. It also interests me because the work is meant to also be functional, creating usable electricity in a silent yet effective way. Additionally, the work is attractive because it utilizes our unconscious and habitual acts to secretly generate energy rather than for example making the clean energy connotations obvious by for example adding solar panels to the surface of a sculptural piece. The data visualization aspect is relevant to my final work as it also involves making more understandable changes in physical phenomenon.
