TTL Cable

• Install USB drivers

Pockesphinx

• Install libasound2, alsa-dev, and alsa-lib-dev. (libasound and alsa-lib-dev were already installed on my beaglebone black)
  • opkg install alsa-dev
• Get sphinxbase and pocketsphinx, preferrably putting them in a code directory.
  • wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/cmusphinx/files/sphinxbase/0.8/sphinxbase-0.8.tar.gz
  • wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/cmusphinx/files/pocketsphinx/0.8/pocketsphinx-0.8.tar.gz
• Unzip
  • tar -xzf sphinxbase-0.8.tar.gz
  • tar -xzf pocketsphinx-0.8.tar.gz
• Generate configureation files. Config without python.
  • autogen.sh --without-python

• list disks
  • diskutil list
• install from a ubuntu live USB. I used a Ubuntu 13 live USB from osx 10.8
• follow instructions here from the live usb: http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#Method_1:_Download_a_Complete_Pre-Configured_Image
• you will probably be missing packages
• you may need to add universe to package repository to get those missing packages
  • sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu $(lsb_release -sc) main universe restricted multiverse"
