Changes

For my final project, I want to create an interactive art piece that allows the viewer to approach an aesthetically pleasing chocolate. The enlarged chocolate is going to be hand made, maybe out of cardboard. Then, I want to put sensors on these chocolate pieces or maybe even cocoa beans if they are easier to make, so when the chocolate is touched, it will cause a chain reaction from the . There will be chains that are surrounding it, hopefully fastened with LEDs or lights. What I want to portray through this piece is to show the slavery and bondage of children sold into chocolate industries as slaves. Many third world countries have these chocolate industries that enslave children to work in fields, chopping cocoa beans and continuing on this job until adulthood. My project is to propose an awareness of culture and slavery that still exists today. I will use multiple sensors and thicker wire to create chains that will light up LEDs in an orderly manner. I am not quite sure how all of this will play out in terms of presentation, but I am still hoping to maintain a "trap-like" machine that will allow the viewer to trigger the light up or even release of chains...
